For the delight of fans of the series Endeavour, Season 3 will indeed be filmed and the script will once again be written by Russell Lewis. The new season of Endeavour will also take place in 1967, continuing the story of the abrupt ending of the final episode of the second season.
The second season came back in March 2014 with a maximum audience of 7 million people and an increase in the audience of 27%, making it one of the most effective returns among TV series on the ITV channel this year.The director of the company Drama Commissioning, Steve November said about the third season:"We are delighted to be working with Mammoth Screen on the third season of Endeavour. Russell Lewis created four fantastic stories and we look forward to seeing Sean Evans, who will play the role of a young Morse."

 ITV’s press center has officially announced the renewal of their hit detective drama series Endeavour for series 3. Series 3 of the phenomenally successful drama and prequel to Inspector Morse will consist of 4 120-minute films and will again be written by Inspector Morse writer, Russell Lewis. Returning to their roles are Jack Laskey as DS Peter Jakes, Sean Rigby as PC Jim Strange, Anton Lesser as Chief Superintendent Reginald Bright, James Bradshaw as Dr. Max DeBryn and Abigail Thaw as journalist Dorothea Frazil.
