Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge is an American reality television competition show that airs on the Country Music Television channel. The reality show was created by Steve Austin, a retired professional wrestler (better known by his ring name "Stone Cold" Steve Austin) who has been hailed as the biggest star in World Wrestling Federation (WWF)/WWE history. Steve Austin also hosts the show and serves as an executive producer along with Christian Sarabia (Marrying the Game), Rabih Gholam (Redneck Island), Jack Heller (Hunt to Kill) and Vince Cariati (Minute to Win It). Season 1 of Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge premiered on the CMT channel of July 6, 2014.

The contestants on the show all have athletic backgrounds, including MMA fighters, pro wrestlers, and athletes from CrossFit, Spartan Racers and Tough Mudder. Every week someone gets eliminated and the last one standing has to complete a very tough obstacle course called Skullbuster for a chance to win $10,000, or even more.

UPDATED November 12, 2015: The CMT channel has just announced that season 3 of their hit reality competition series Steve Austin's Broken Skull Challenge is scheduled to premiere in the US on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 8pm ET/PT and will consist of 18 episodes. The premiere will be a special military-themed episode and will feature US veterans competing in intense and physically demanding set of challenges. The exciting competition series is currently one of the highest-rated shows on the CMT channel and in its previous season it has averaged more than 4 million viewers per episode. The new season will feature the best athletes from different fields that include CrossFit, MMA and many others.
